If you have a G1, that's probably the RC33 update (includes Latitude in Google Maps and voice search on the Google search widget) being pushed out to you as an OTA update. If you go to Settings....About Phone and still have "RC30" included in your Build Number, you should go ahead and accept the update and follow the instructions to reboot your phone.
After the update, go to the Google widget on your main screen (assuming you still have the widget enabled), and try out the new voice search by tapping the microphone icon.
