I am an Android developer, enthusiast and a hesitant purchaser. Just this morning, I loaded a trial app that looked good on YouTube, but when I loaded it on my G1 (the only device available) the layout was terrible and relied on a lot of patience from the user to navigate it. To add insult to injury, it asked for my email address, etc in order to work. I uninstalled the app and that was it.
This has been more or less my experience with a number of apps. I suppose this is the reason for Apple's undemocratic gate keeping policy, and may be the reason for all of the dreaded uni-stars. Apps rushed to the market (no matter how well intentioned or useful if only the users were more patient) are really bad for the whole platform. Free or cheap or otherwise, it is completely frustrating to have your time stolen by poorly designed software. All that being said ... it would be great if there was a way for the market to offer a beta program that could be limited to a number of registered users, who would give feedback in exchange for ... whatever might motivate them. i++ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
