If you ever get to do that you'll realize it gets old pretty fast.

I imagine myself living my life on a warm island doing nothing but
having fun with my wife and kid(s) ;)
I did start writing for Android for fun though, and like almost
everybody else hope I'll make some bucks.

Cheers

I love it. But it is not android in particular. I just love writing software.
Cannot imagine myself doing anything else in my life. I would say that I like
writing software for mobil devices more than for PC's.

I'm entirely in your camp!
'Love it' is a big word. But i like it! :)
And i, too, hope that the monetary side'll get a little (lot) better.

As the subject says: do we do this for the love of building something
new and exciting ... or do we do it for the hope of money?!

In my case, I'd say different on different days. When I got started
with Android, it was for love of developing on a new platform and
reaching out to a big audience.

But when its the end of a long day and I'm still stuck solving a
tricky problem, I think its the hope of eventually getting paid that
keeps me going!!

Anyway over to you - please be honest!
