Like most everyone I do android programming for both love and money. 6 months or so ago I wrote a successful windows mobile app and took paypal donations for my work. I quickly realized that I was never going to make too much cash that way. I enjoyed making the application though, mostly because I like writing code for mobile devices. I started Android programming on the promise of paid apps, by the time the paid market opened I had already released 4 free games and foudn the experience fun, but now that I am making a little bit of money from my Android work I am definitely enjoying that side of things.
The amount of money that I have made is nice, but nowhere near my hourly contract rate, so I would say that I am mostly doing it for fun but the money is nice. ---snctln On Apr 7, 2:12 pm, "[email protected]" <[email protected]> wrote: > As the subject says: do we do this for the love of building something > new and exciting ... or do we do it for the hope of money?! > > In my case, I'd say different on different days.
