Is this a fresh Eclipse install or did you have other plugins installed before, such as an old ADT?
One thing you could try is Window > Reset Perspective on the Java perspective. Otherwise, please look at the file your_workspace/.metadata/.log (or use the Windows > View > Error Log), it might contain useful debug messages from Eclipse. Either post it here or email it to me.
