Well theres a sweeping statement if ever I saw one!

1) Theres a lot of good GPL-licenced software out there, but there is
good quality Apache/BSD/Proprietory licenced stuff too.

2) GPL does not imply no-cost.

3) I have bought some great apps worth more than 64p on the market,
I'd buy some $1 ones if the market let me.

4) One persons crap is another persons gold mine.

There is a lot of poor quality stuff on the market, but it's not all
crap. Just like looking for decent software on the Web / package
repository for your PC.
