If you are using "official" ROMs on a None-Rooted phone, then you might have problems.
If you had the ability to do a Nandroid backup, then I would suggest taking one and then wiping all user data off the phone. I've had numerous problems with upgrading android when I have a load of apps installed. Fligg.
