There will, once in a while, be someone who gets lucky. On the whole though, I doubt that the android scene will ever be much different than apple. And no, apple developers don't get rich either, how many people are really going to be able to see one app in TENS OF THOUSANDS? You would need to have a LOT of people magically stumbling upon your app (against the odds) in order for it to really sell.
