Hello,

let's imagine some poor uninformed developer misuses WakeLocks. His app
acquires the lock but he fails to release it properly in onPause (or even
onStop). User hits Home button, phone goes to homescreen, but the screen is
always on and drains battery very quickly.

Shouldn't WakeLocks be ignored when user is in the Homescreen? Why the user has
to be a victim of some developer's ignorance?

It happened to me few days ago. I downloaded several apps from the Market,
checked them out, then I just clicked Home and went to sleep. Next morning i
woke up late because the alarm didn't ring (is this a correct collocation in
English?;)). You can only imagine my frustration.

Multitasking + no app control = severe problems for users. iPhone may be
limited, controlled and closed but at least this helps to protect users.

Regards,
Lukasz
