Try stopping the market app, clearing the cache and also the data. To do this, press menu-settings-applications, then find the market app. Stop the app first, then clear the "data." When you start the market app again, you'll be presented with a document to agree to, like you've never run the market app before. That's normal. See if that does the trick.
