If he's a developer, then he could write an app that created a
tiled-screen effect.
It does seem like a big HDTV would be cheaper than lots of tablets,
though. Even if you're talking about really cheap tablets (which
usually have large borders anyway).

The Nexus 7 doesn't have HDMI out though. My A500 does. You can plug
that into the HDMI input of a TV or monitor with HDMI.
