Increased broadband and wireless technology solutions will better support robust digital teaching content, online teaching resources and online testing. Since 1998, the NYCDOE has formally supported City schools with centrally administered projects to enhance and expand Internet access. The need for reliable network connection requires continual investment in next generation education technology platforms and is the focus of enhancing school technology infrastructure. Requested Qualification: 60 Months supporting day to day network operations that include routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and network technology. 36 Months of network configuration for network equipment (routing, switching , firewall, and Wireless Access Management). 24 Months providing detailed network configuration and network status reports. 24 Months Preparing network diagrams, floor plans, and schematics using Visio where required 36 Months of Level I, II, and III network support with WAM, LAN trouble shooting. 84 Months with configuration experience and expertise with Cisco Switches 6xxx, 5xxx, 4xxx, 29xx, 19xx, Cisco Routers 2951,4XXX, Cisco firewalls 5555,5516, Cisco and Aruba wireless controllers, access points and WAM. 48 Months working with LAN/WAN infrastructure and all LAN and WAN networking technologies Knowledge of communication protocols and Cisco communication equipment. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s degree in computer science/ telecommunications from an accredited college Day to day tasks: Support for the Classroom Connectivity Project of school server integration including but not limited to delivery, installation, and break/fix activities. Responsible for configuring physical (Windows 2012 R2 Core) and virtual servers (3 Windows VMs and 2 Linux VMs), Remote Access cards, Active Directory, DNS Services, LAN and network services. Troubleshoot and provide support for hardware and software problems during the server integration including but not limited to DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, SNMP, TCP/IP, and WINS. Create and update documentation of all work effort to support server integration for sites including design documents and process diagrams Performs testing on Servers. Interact with DOE end-users and vendors to resolve logistic and hardware issues with equipment.
