Job Title: Software Architect Senior

Short description:

This position supports the following applications and initiatives for the
Department of Transportation; Bus Model Approval System (BMAS), Carrier
Smart Roadside Inspection System (CVIEW), Maintenance Asset Management
Information
System (MAMIS), Enterprise Asset Management Program (EAMP), Leave and
Accrual Tracking System (LATS), Highway Oversize/Overweight credentialing
System (HOOCS) and assists with other applications management, support and
development as needed.



Requested Qualification:

84 months designing, architecting, and guiding the implementation of
high-end, scalable, robust applications and solutions including Oracle
Forms and
Reports.
84 months’ experience developing in PL/SQL, SQL*Plus and SQL including
writing stored procedures, functions, packages and triggers
84 months programming experience using complex Oracle DBMS in versions
Oracle 11g and higher.
84 months’ experience creating UNIX shell scripts, and programming
applications for use with UNIX, NT and PC environments
60 experience months in legacy application modernization.
60 months experience writing and webservices using XML and SOAP.


Day to day tasks:

Software Architect developer on all assigned projects and critical agency
deliverables.
Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and tuning Oracle 10g Forms and
Reports programs for a high profile OLTP production application.
Provide architectural direction on all assigned projects.
Ensure that the system architecture integrates hardware, software, data,
and procedural system components to satisfy system requirements.
Provide overall technical vision of various internal and customer
facing software
applications.
Work with key program area stakeholders to understand the business
requirements for new/redesigned systems.
Articulate and communicate the architecture and key design patterns within
the program areas and IT.
Collaborate with the IT and program area leads to translate program area
requirements into technology requirements and recommend viable technical
options.
Define the migration and implementation strategy.
Act as a Mentor in developing the skills and expertise of other IT
developers on the team by performing code reviews and suggesting changes
that will best fit the Program and Agency needs.
