It's a fairly complicated interaction: basically when a down is
detected, the down location is stored and a delayed message scheduled
for a timeout.  If move events are received that move the position
sufficiently far from the starting position, then it goes into move
mode.  If the timeout occurs while still selecting, then it goes into
long press (showing the context menu).  Otherwise, when the up event
occurs, it selects the item at the current location.
