Hi Appu, because MapView is trying to connect with CONNECT method first. But most proxy server will not convey a packet besides SSL(443) port. I think Android is not completely implemented yet.
As for the solution, I make a small program that ignore the CONNECT and change the POST's URI. At least it works in my environment (Fedora6 + PHP + Squid without user authentication). It is written in PHP and only 180 lines program. I'm not sure how to upload the file here.
