You mean bring up Android on Some specific Board or on a device.
Or you mean You have AOSP, which you want to build?

This clarification is must because if you download AOSP, then you will not
get any "kernel" folder in it.
For that, you have to download separately....

If you mean you are bringing Android on Board/device then vendor should
provide the "kernel" and that
kernel image should work on the hardware, as it is vendor-specific.....
