Are there plans to integrate the android code into the Linux kernel?
The CE Workgroup of the Linux Foundation (formerly CELF), has been working
behind the scenes to put together a project to mainline portions of the
Android
kernel patches into Linux. Linaro has been working on some stuff here
as well.
We're not ready to announce anything yet, but in brief the plan is to
start with
some simple (hopefully non-controversial) items, and try to mainline them on
behalf of Google. The pilot project for this will likely be mainlining
the logger code
(or at least the logger feature set).
Look for more information on this later this month (I hope).
