[android-kernel] Kernel version request for Icecream sandwish?

HI ALL:
    I've seen lots android device shipped with kernel 3.0.8 for ics,
Is there anyone can tell me what's the specific reason why should do this?
Or, can I still use kernel 2.6.35 for ics.
