Hi, i have several questions about the most recent kernel versions for
Android, for practical reasons i'm focusing only on the emulator:

 - i can compile a kernel for Android starting from a vanilla kernel
downloaded from kernel.org ?
 - if no, what about an announce like this ?
link<http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/19/linux-kernel-3-3-merged-android-code/>
 - why the configuration for the emulator is so old ? My image of jelly
bean still uses a kernel 2.6.29 configured with some old feature like the
Yaffs2 support.
 - what are the difference between the several git repository with
different kernels ? What should i use for what ? For example, what is the
difference between kernel-goldfish and kernel-common.
 - the Google team working on Android is planning a definitive switch to
the branch 3.x ? i see that many Android flavours are still using a really
old version of the linux kernel, i really don't get why today the most
popular kernel for Android is the 2.6.x version.

Thanks.
