Hi there,

I'm trying to get the boot logo enabled and visible on HDMI for a
Pandaboard running ICS Kernel:

https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/omap

commit 52f476403350050beb0dff135a55c06c9e7a82a9 which I think is on branch
android-omap-panda-3.0 and is the revision that reverts the PVR SGX driver
to
+match v 1.8 in my ICS user space graphics drivers.

I see boot logo menu options when running menuconfig but no Framebuffer
Console or fonts and having looked at the Kconfig rules I think FB Console
needs
+to be enabled in order to get the Tux logo, please correct me if that's
not the case. I notice that CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE does not feature in
the
+panda_defconfig that I used to configure the kernel. I guess I don't
fully understand the kernel configuration tools as I don't seem to be able
to
+find the rule that excludes this from menuconfig.

Can I enable it somehow? Has it been disabled for a reason, for example,
that the omapfb driver doesn't work properly with fbcon ? Is it something
+Android specific? Is there a newer version of the OMAP kernel I can use
for ICS that has this particular SGX driver version?

Also, is it even possible to get the output on HDMI via omapdss kernel
bootargs this early in the boot process? Will I need to ensure that I
define and
+force a mode that exactly matches my display spec?

Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to point me in the right direction.

Regards...Jeremy
