I have a HID-related patch I plan on submitting for the kernel. Ideally this patch would make it upstream to mainline Linux kernel, and as such I have a couple questions as to where would be the best place to submit it.
If I have a patch that I want to be in Android kernel 3.0, 3.4, and future Android kernels, should I submit it individually to each kernel branch? Or is there only one I should submit it to (I can't see one if there is)? Should I also separately submit it to upstream Linux? Ideally this patch would be in as many kernel versions as possible, but I want to make sure I follow your workflow, which is why I'm asking this before submitting it. I haven't contributed to kernel code in the past so this is a new experience for me, and the information resources I'm finding aren't answering these questions.
