Jake, I don't think this is the right mailing list for your question since your interest goes beyond the kernel. I recommend you try a forum like xda<http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development?nocache=1>, which is more pertinent to "taking ultimate control". Also, it seems your device is supported by cyanogenmod<http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Xt1060_Info>, which is a very nice starting point for what you want to do.
