Hello, I am a long time embedded Linux developer with experience porting to new hardware platforms. When doing this work there are many operations which require root permissions to perform. On many systems you need root permissions to mount file systems. I understand Android's anti- root sentiments. Is there a guide which describes how to perform root type operations during development?
It seems that the easiest thing to do would be to run the shell as root during development but non-root for production. TIA -- unsubscribe: android-porting+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com website: http://groups.google.com/group/android-porting
