Hi all,

First of all, I would like to state that this post is BY NO MEANS
specific brand related, commercial or whatsoever - so I would
appreciate
keeping the discussion as objective as possible.

I would like to get an Android development board - for the purpose of
compiling, building and modifying both Kernel code and Android code on
a real device.
I don't really care about the manufacturer, nor money is a serious
issue (although of course the chipper the better).
What I am really interested in are the following criteria:

- Availability - I need to get such a board (or actually a couple of
those) ASAP - and ready to work. That is, I want to start with a
working Android version, with the latest kernel (>= Linux 3.0
equivalent), without spending weeks on a board bring-up. In addition
to it, a kernel, or platform modification should be easy and
documented enough for met to be able to build and modify
kernel and Android Platform. Having said that, a cross-compiler, or
very good instructions on how to crosstool-ng or automagically create
it in any other way is needed as well.

- Open-Source code - consistently as synced to the latest Android
development
- Active community - In case I run into problems or questions - I
would like to have people to ask.
- Rich in hardware:
--- TouchScreen - which is already integrated with the Board, and has
all the drivers for it ( /drivers/input /drivers/graphics/ FB stuff
etc.) - is essential.
--- Serial Console, which is ready to display kernel boot messages -
is essential.
--- JTAG Probes are recommended
--- WIFI is essential. Ethernet connection is also required
--- Having a multicore processor is required, and Camera is nice to
have.
--- Having a convenient way to debug Graphics/Video related issues -
is highly recommended

I would be happy to get my hands on such a board, and hopefully
contribute my work as well back to the upstream/community.

Now, can anyone please recommend me of such a board, given these
requirements?
I am not too involved which chipsets My final product will run on all
ARM architectures, and presumably on Intel Atom's as well.
To be honest - this is my first ARM experience. I come from the MIPS
and X86 worlds.

I have heard of a couple of boards:
- TI's OMAP Blaze and Panda (OMAP4), BeagleBoard (I think it's only
OMAP3),
- QualComm's DragonBoard, SnapDragon

I really don't care which board to use - as long as it satisfies my
requirements and get me starting working on Android Platform
Development in no-time.

Please Advice.

Thanks,
Ron

The product I will be developing will essentially have to support
