I made sure to set kernel_no_image :=false, and threw the kernel in the folder it was looking for.
Is there anything else I need to look at? Extremely frustrating ot try and find more information on, as everyone trying to build a recovery image tends to want to build something custom like clockwork, or start out with the base image and tweak it.
