Only /data is encrypted.
Manufacturers may change the default behavior.

Subject: [android-security-discuss] Full Disk Encryption question
I've reviewed "Notes on the implementation of encryption in Android
3.0" (http://source.android.com/tech/encryption/
android_crypto_implementation.html) and was hoping for some additional
detail/clarification about the behavior of FDE in ICS.

Which portions of the filesystem are encrypted when FDE is enabled?
Things that seem potentially worth encrypting on the Nexus S include:
1) /system
2) /data
3) /mnt/sdcard (which is internal flash memory)
4) /cache

Are all of these encrypted, or only some? Is the answer consistent
across phones?

Thanks,

Jacob
