On Home screen, "Menu" Key > Parameters > Wireless > Wi-Fi Parameters

Option available from Android 2.3 and above.  If your phone is running
2.2 or lower and supports a newer ROM, I would recommend upgrading to
it.  Remember, not all 3rd party roms are rooted.  If your fear is
having the device rooted, opt-in for an unrooted image.  That being
said, not all 3rd party roms can be trusted either, although XDA is
usually a trust-able source.
