the disk encryption is whole disk encryption which means the encryption is
effective when OS is not booted.

Once you enter decryption key at boot time for OS its just like normal OS
for OS its all decrypted / plaintext.

this is effective if someone takes a memory dump of your phone he will not
be able to recover anything.
