Hello.
So I've encrypted my phone so that it needs a password to decrypt all the
data when it's powered up. But here's the thing, I have an antivirus which
has anti-theft features like locating the phone and locking with a pin
code. When you encrypt your phone it reduces the screen lock options to 3:
Face, pin code and password, the None option is also disabled. What used to
happen was I would send the request and the phone would lock like if you
clicked the power button with the code I would chose, and upon logging in
to the phone with that code it would set the lock screen security to none.
But now that option isn't available, so what happens is that the screen
lock option is still the same but the pin is nothing.
Basically, my problem is that every time I try to set my phone pin or
password to something and lock the phone it works but (here's where i hope
your help comes in :) ) when i unlock the phone using the pin code /
password I set it sets it back to nothing, and now the way you unlock the
phone is by just pressing enter when it asks you for a code.
I have looked for a non-official way to decrypt your phone but didn't have
much success. I suspect it's a combination of using my anti-theft feature
and the phone being encrypted. Has anyone experienced something close to
this or has a solution? If so your opinion would be very much appreciated.
Also do you think this can be a security brake?
Thanks!
