Hi Xing Lin,

Go for it ! it’s a great idea ! don’t hesitate to ask questions about cartridge development on this list

Spring support would be very cool to have in addition to the EJB/Hibernate/Struts cartridges, furthermore I think that the cartridge itself will be very light.

I’m looking forward to it

Subject: [Andromda-devel] Spring Support?

Hi all,

Now we are going for 3.0 M1. How about adding some feature to support spring framework which is popular recently.

Like hibernate and EJB, spring makes building enterprise application easier. So,  the mapping from uml model to spring framework could be achieved.

  Spring has two important features:

  1. Composite objects using configuration.

  2. Make J2EE techonology easier to use.

For the first one, we need a cartridge to generate config files which establish the collaborations between objects.

For second one, we can choose some interesting features into the andromda. some examples are listed here:

      * support to transparent remote invocation such as rmi, hessian.

      * support to AOP.  As a extent to OOP , AOP is a excellent modulization techonology.  An aspect can be modeled and mapped to an advise in spring.  This makes application more clear.
