Subject: [Andromda-devel] Service oriented architecture
Hello,
I would like to suggests an enhancement to AndroMDA. I
believe that business process is the most important
feature one would expect to have generated from a
model driven tool.
[CB] I wouldn't say it's an improvement to AndroMDA: more like a new
cartridge for AndroMDA. You could write one and contribute it :)
Lets say we are a CD player and our business is
playing CDs. Our business processes includes detecting
a CDs presence, reading the CD play list and songs,
and waiting for instructions from the client.
This processes can be modeled using two diagrams. The
client request diagram which detects the CD and
receives play pause stop next and previous requests,
and a CD reader diagram which reads the play list and
the songs.
These diagrams are implemented as services. Lets
assume that the play list and the songs are stored in
a database. All of this can be modeled using AndroMDA
except the implementation of the service, the process.
Have you given any thought to what tools could be used
to model processes?
[CB] Have you seen the way you model for bpm4struts? It's all about
process. Anyway we could probably take the same or similar approach for
modeling process with web services.
AndroMDA User,
Philip Donaghy
