Yes thats unfortunate the free version doesn't support
the other diagrams.

I would say magic draw is just a much better tool to
diagram with, poseidon 2.x is very slow and very
memory intensive, I think they have of lot of work to
do before it even comes close to the usuability of
Magic Draw.  With Magic Draw you can also extend
common models (which we do with the modeling of our
metafacades for AndroMDA 3.0)...posiedon I don't think
has this.

Well obviously you'll need a commercial edition of
Magic Draw to do dynamic modeling with AndroMDA (since
MD community version doesn't have dynamic modeling
available), but other than that...no.
