Thanks a lot for this information.
Anyway, the free edition of Omondo does not support user defined profiles, which makes it worthless for AndroMDA. See: http://www.forum-omondo.com/viewtopic.php?t=458
IMO, for AndroMDA we need to have just a simple UML tool which has following requirements:
1. Complete UML diagrams (1.3, 1.4, 1.5, ...). 2. User defined Profiles (Stereotypes, TaggedValues and Constraints). 3. XMI export (1.1, 1.2, ...).
That's it, no need for forward engineering, reverse engineering, and all those additional stuffs... ;-)
So at the moment I can only see one *free* product: PoseidonUML CE which supports all the requirements? Other products which support all the requirements above must be purchased, correct?
JFYI: OmondoUML is based on EMF (not MOF) for its Metamodeling framework, so the XMI version of OmondoUML might not be compatible with the real XMI standard. At least not in the 1.x version.
A very nice article on this topic: "MOF to EMF: There and Back Again" http://www.dstc.edu.au/Research/Projects/Pegamento/publications/MOF-to-EMF-There-and-Back-Again.pdf
