It sounds like you need that jar with your remote client as well then.

The class org/odmg/DCollection is inside the omdg-3.0.jar that is deployed whit the generated EAR.
Before returning the object I call getFoo() accesors to load the related Objects because I'm using lazy loading.
By the way I'm using Jboss 3.2.5.
I'll appreciate if someone could give me a hand
