I did this for a project which used an Entity model based on the Party/Person/Organization model used in IAA and othe data models for example. I was going to attach a slimmed down version of the model but attachments dont seem to enabled so I have put at
The Entity and Relation objects have inheritance=interface so nothing is generated for them and the attributes are generated on the subclass objects. In this example enity just has a created date. Relation has start/end and effective_start/end. start/end is when the relationship actually started/ended and the effective_start/end dates are when the system became aware of this knowledge.
