Thanks for the feedback. This brings up a question about "workflow". Spring is becoming more and more of a framework that can handle workflow (ie., OSWorkflow) issues within an application. There are proprietary tools like Weblogic Integration that uses a graphical modeling tool built into Weblogic Workshop 8.1, which is widely used here at BofA - especially since half the consultants on staff are from BEA.
