Dear All, The history of the Aphaiwong family, the last lord-governors of Battambang, is very intriguing. After amassed a fortune by taxing heavily from Khmer farmers in Battambang, Chhum Aphaiwong, the last lord-governor, had built two mansions fit for the king, one in Batambang and the other in Prachinburi in Thailand. the one in Thailand is much bigger and more grnadeur than the one in Battambang.
