Hello! I will just make few comments to the current situation : I pulled .dev branch and started playing with it: "ANGSTROM_MODE=uclibc IMAGES_FSTYPES=cpio.gz bitbake initramfs-bootmenu-image" : 1) there is a problem with packages/klibc: klibc-common.inc wants to patch package with fstype-sane-vfat-and-jffs2-for-1.5.patch while packages/klibc/files/ holds fstype-sane-and-vfat-jffs2.patch , so this generates problems.... Sorry - I haven't opened a bug for that - I have spent too much time on setting up the dev branch.... Fixing the patch name gave me some problems too - file to be patched not found or similar message. I gave up on that, skipped automatic patching and patched it manually... 2)the command above does not produce cpio.gz images. I had to add it to my local.conf. Otherwise I was getting [1] with "ANGSTROM_MODE=glibc bitbake virtual/kernel" - I guess it is impossible to make some spelling mistake in case of Copy&Paste.... (oh well - maybe the new line....)
Ok - now theoretical questions : what does this revolutionary bootloading idea change for users of h2200 and h5000 ? It is not going to substitute bootldr and LAB, is it ? In case of h5000 I will still have to flash (using bootldr) the jffs2 image the internal flash ? And the most important - once finished with the steps recommended in Paul's mail - what now ? I have (ulibc) initramfs-bootmenu-image-h5000.jffs2 initramfs-bootmenu-image-h5000.cpio.gz and (glibc) zImage-2.6.21-hh20-r13-h5000.bin ? Bitbake some serious image (console, x11 etc) and flash it ? Again - using bootldr (in case of h5000) or should I expect some more magical solution ?:) I will try playing more tomorrow - need to get some more sleep now... -- Good night ...
