Well, this is progress. I flashed a ROM with the latest Akita version (BTW what's the difference with the "Summary" version?) and got WPA/PSK working with my network card. Then I installed e17 per the wiki, did the workaround for the screen shift, added the applications.menu file. So far, so good. I really like the interface!
Everything I have tried from the main menu works. I have 2 icons on the bottom of the screen: Firefox and xterm. Neither works, and not a surprise since I never installed Firefox. I opened a root shell, and did "ipkg install Firefox". There were no error messages from the installation, so I tied the firefox icon and it failed. After restarting e17, still no good, so I rebooted, still no good. I saved the error log, and can post it here if it will help. I'm thinking I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, but don't know what. I don't want to screw up this installation by blindly installing or removing software. Guidance, please?
