Still trying to build here on FC8. For those who keep track of such
things, so far I've had these problems:

QEMU - needs gcc 3.x, the yum compat will get you a 3.x version, but see
below.

I've had to rename 'as' a couple of times as described here:

http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg00461.html

The sleepycat url (http://downloads.sleepycat.com) is gone. I had to
make changes to
org.openembedded.angstrom-2007.12-stable/packages/db/db_4.3.29.bb

HOMEPAGE = "http://www.sleepycat.com"->
"http://download.oracle.com/berkeley-db/";
SRC_URI = "http://downloads.sleepycat.com/db-${PV}.tar.gz"->
"http://download.oracle.com/berkeley-db/db-${PV}.tar.gz";

There are other references and I don't really know what needs to be
changed, but these fixed it for me.

I thought I was going to be successful, but the generated qemu Seg
Faults. It also complains about the -r option when you try to run it by
hand.

I'm going to try to rebuild from scratch and compile QEMU with 4.x (it
can't get any worse!).
