Hi all,
I'm a nOOb trying to compile Angstrom to a hx4700 (for starters, hope to
use angstrom in a videolink system between gumstix and a hx4700).
I've battled the more obvious errors, but now I'm stuck.
in the build directory (or the org.openembedded.stable directory for
that matter) I do a " bitbake base-image".
I checked my configuration and I am using stable branch.
the error i get is the following :
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/org.openembedded.stable$ bitbake base-image
NOTE: Out of date cache found, rebuilding...

TARGET_ARCH = "arm"
TARGET_OS = "linux-gnueabi"
MACHINE = "hx4700"
DISTRO = "angstrom"
DISTRO_VERSION = "2008.1-test-20080907"
TARGET_FPU = "soft"
NOTE: Resolving any missing task queue dependencies
ERROR: Required build target 'base-image' has no buildable providers.
Missing or unbuildable dependency chain was: ['base-image', 'opkg-native']
when trying to build opkg-native it says
ERROR: Nothing PROVIDES 'opkg-native' (but '[]' DEPENDS on or otherwise
requires it)
so, it seems I need this package. but I did all the required stuff in the
build manual. and as a noob, I'm not too sure how to manually add it.
more likely I'm doing something else wrong. Stable should build,
shouldn't it ?
Am I correct is assuming opkg-native is just stuff in the build tree, not
a command it needs local on my machine ?
I saw some proposal to move from ipkg to opkg in the buglist, but I see
no opkg in the BACKPORTS.txt. so why is this bugging me ?
one other question : how does one determine the available distro's
to choose from in DISTRO= in local.conf?
The only one I have is the one from the example. it says angstrom2008.1.
The images I tried earlier were all 2007.12, this seems invalid in the
DISTRO entry, though.
Hope you can provide me with some pointers (maybe mountaineering gear as
well ;-) ) as to continue on the learning curve...
Regards,
Ronald
