I am using Angstrom on two Zaurus (C1000 and C3000), and was using OpenZaurus on a 5500 before. I must agree with Ian on the present status of the project. :( I am stuck with 2007.12 version with no updates on the clamshells, because no newer version works (xorg problems), and still stuck with openzaurus on the 5500, as no version of Angstrom works with SD cards I own on that. They are known problems, and there are proposed patches both in the bugtracker and in the mailing lists, but it seems no-one wants to apply them, to keep compatibility with other devices. Maybe the developers are more interested in using Angstrom on routers or other embedded devices, or porting QTopia to Angstrom, but I am not (I hate QTopia, anyway...). I don't think the developers are up to themselves, and I found great help from some of them when I needed it. I think they simply have other interests, so they are driving the project where they want/need. But it is not where I need it. :) I tried to download OE buildsystem (5 times in over 1 year) to try to help, but didn't manage to complete a single full build on any version, so I gave up. I was hoping in Poky, but I think it will be gone, now that o-hand has been acquired by Intel to work on Moblin. OpenMoko is my last hope, and I will try it as soon as I have time (hoping they will focus on FSO instead of QTopia...). I fear the Angstrom project will slowly die, as it loses users and developers. In the meantime, I am looking forward to x86-based MIDs, so I can install Debian on them. Bye. _______________________________________________ Angstrom-distro-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/angstrom-distro-users
