All: I was testing the behavior of 'ipkg update' with failing network connections. The test sequence was to initiate a dial up network connection, start 'ipkg update' and then unplug the telephone line.
In one case (so far) ipkg failed by creating a file in /var/lib/ipkg/ that consumed all available space on the filesystem device. The system would still start and run in this state, but 'ipkg update' would then fail with a segv. Once I found the 'massive' file and deleted it things returned to normal. I've read that opkg is the successor to ipkg and has many bug fixes. I would like to switch to using this but I don't seem to have a bitbake recipe for it in the Angstrom stable metadata. Can I just install it from a feed and will it work OK with the ipkg files and configuration? Thanks, snafu _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live⢠Hotmail®: Chat. Store. Share.
