I built the latest image from the auto builder on the angstrom site,
random-9ac583e4-image-collie. I unpack it with auto detect
sub-folders. This unpacks what looks like a linux file system.
I down loaded the latest zimage-kexeboot-2.6.26-r12-collie.bin.
I will put the zimage-kexeboot-2.6.26-r12-collie.bin on a compact
flash card with nothing else on it and renamed to "zimage".
I am attempting to put the the image I auto built on a san disk card
(512MB) Here is where I am running into problems.
I made the sd card an ext2 file system and formatted it.
On my main PC, I am running Mandriva 2009.1 x86_64
Linux localhost 2.6.29.6-server-2mnb #1 SMP Sun Aug 16
23:23:59 EDT 2009 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 148 GNU/Linu
The main pc recognizes the sd card as "other" in the control
centre/local disks and when you go to advanced and details it says it
is formatted ext2.
When I plug it in the card is recognized and I can open it in dolphin.
I copied the auto build system onto the sd card and everything seems
to have copied OK except the contents of the "device" folder. When I
try to copy the "device" file/files it comes up with an error saying
"could not read "path/xxx.x". Now when I have been trying to get the
"auto-build" system on the sd card the main pc does some weird things.
In one test unpacking there is only one file
"file:///home/xxxx/Download/latestangstrom/test/dev/initctl". The
first unpacking I have a bunch of zero byte files apm_bios,console,
event0, fb0, hda, hda1 etc. I think the the angstrom linux system
actually ran on the main pc and that's how all these files were
developed, when I did two other test unpacking's I just have the
"initctl" zero byte file that's labelled in dolphin as a "pipe" that
still will not copy.
Even if I unpack the "auto-build" image, random-9ac583e4-image-collie,
on the card it ends up in a folder named for the image and I cannot
copy the system to the root of the card.
If and when I get everything copied to the sd card properly, and the
cf card with the "zimage" on it, I will flash the collie and keep my
fingers crossed.
If anyone can give me a hint if I have the right idea as to how to
switch to angstrom and what is going on trying to copy the
"auto-build" system onto the sd card I would really appreciate it.
