I downloaded two systems for the beagleboard built by narcissus: a stable and an unstable task base extended build. Both are split images of a rootfs tar file and a 1GB sd card image.

I copied the sd card image to an 2GB sd ram card (using dd) and then un-tarred the compressed root file system into the mounted ext3 partition.

The system hangs in u-boot with the following output:

----

U-Boot 2010.03-rc1 (Mar 25 2010 - 20:42:17) OMAP3530-GP ES3.1, CPU-OPP2, L3-165MHz, Max clock-720Mhz OMAP3 Beagle board + LPDDR/NAND I2C: ready

-----

If I replace the u-boot.bin on the VFAT partition with a u-boot.bin from beagleboard site (u-boot-revc4.bin), the boot succeeds.

Anyone know why the u-boot.bin on the provided .img file from narcissus won't boot on the beagleboard?

My beagleboard is a rev C4. I have nothing connected to the board, but power and the serial console.
