I finally found an error message. I first looked for /var/log/messages and
found it doesn't exist. Then I looked at dmesg and saw no flags. Then I went
into /etc/X11/Xsession.d and found a script called 69gconfd-dbus with this:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/libexec/gconfd-2 &
*********************************************
I then tried sh /usr/libexec/gconfd-2 and got this:
line 1: syntax error: word unexpected (expecting "(")
************************************************
I also looked at ps aux to see what was running and got this:
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
root 1161 0.0 1.7 1736 520 ttyS0 Ss+ 17:36 0:00 /sbin/getty
115200 ttyS0
root 1162 0.0 2.7 2768 812 tty1 Ss 17:36 0:00 -sh
root 1213 0.0 2.8 2224 844 tty1 R+ 18:18 0:00 ps auu
***********************************************************
I take it this isn't normal behavior of X11 images (dropping you to a console)
on a Zaurus SL-5600 Poodle?
