Hi all,
I need your advices on Angstrom’s Online Builder (Narcissus).
On the
Angstrom website, I use the Online Builder (Narcissus) to build images for the
beagle board.
Here is the chosen configuration:
Machine:
BeagleBoard
Image name:
ABB_Cfg1
Complexity:
simple
User
environment selection: Console only
Additional
packages selection:
Development
package: NO
Additional
package (NO)
Network
related package (NO)
Java
packages (NO)
Platform
specific packages:
Texas
Instruments OMAP3x/AM3x
* Bootloader
Files (x-load/u-boot/scripts) (YES)
Texas Instruments OMPA3x/Davinci/OMAPL family
(using DSP)
* TI
DSPLInk example applications (YES)
* TI Codec
Example Applications (YES)
* TI DMAI
Examples/Tests (YES)
Julius demo for Texas Instruments
Various
demonstration configs
* Original
beagleboard demo (YES)
Linuxtag 2010 beagleboard demo (NO)
* Beagleboard
validation ramdisk (YES)
After a
waiting time, I can download generated files:
1) ABB_Cfg1-image-beagleboard-sd-1GiB.img.gz
2) ABB_Cfg1-image-beagleboard.tar.gz
but, there
is no document which explains how to use generated files.
At first, I
copy uncompressed ABB_Cfg1-image-beagleboard-sd-1GiB.img.gz on my SD card (with
dd command). I observe
that:
-
2 directories are created: boot
(Windows partition) and rootfs (Linux partition).
-
In the boot directory, there are
files such as MLO, u-boot.bin and uImage.
-
In the “rootfs” directory, there is
only the “lost+found” directory.
Then I uncompress the ABB_Cfg1-image-beagleboard.tar.gz in the “rootfs”
directory on the SD card.
I try the SD
card on the Beagleboard. There is booting from the SD card (u-boot.bin from
MMC). But, the process can not go further to kernel reading and loading with
uImage. What’s wrong?
Could you please
help me?
Is there
any document which explains how to use or test
generated files from Online Builder (Narcissus)? How to define BOOTARGS and
BOOTCMD on the
Beagle board?
Best regards,
Daniel LUU
