I'm not that familiar with Angstrom (yet), but assuming a structure
somewhat like other Linuxs, find the place where the window manager is
started, usually near the end of init script, and run your program
instead of the window manager.
I think I did this a couple of times with ubuntu or even redhat and it
worked pretty well.
