Hvn, As far as i know "opkg" is a package manager used to download and install OpenWrt packages (either from local or online repositories). "opkg update" updates the packages list. You can play with the sources located at /etc/opkg/ if you wish.
"opkg install <target>" installs the <target> package. Are you still dealing with the ROS packages? Have you tried searching for them through "opkg list". Assuming they are not there for your machine, you should cross-compile the recipes, deploy the "<package>.ipk" files in your Angstrom FS and install them through "opkg install <package>.ipkg".
