Hi Gordon, Updated your fiddle: https://jsfiddle.net/ogjwx0ta/ It now works, however, be aware, that this is a very heavy watcher, and I higly discourage you to do something like this. You don't need the DOM to read out your text, you know your text in your controller, right? You better do the calcualtion of your text-width in your onBlur(ngBlur) or ngChange event.
